Hi Raymon, thanks for your comment. Don’t worry, we’ll stick to the vision behind T&H and will continue to expand the site and the listed experiences. Feel free to recommend any new VR documentaries you come across to be added to our directoy.
Hi Alex,
we’ll post it on this forum, on our social media channels and we’ll send out an email as soon as an update is available. You can then download it from the original URL.
The download URL is in your purchase confirmation email.
Let me know if you have further questions.
Best regards,
Tim BoydHallo Herr Kruppa,

Hi Mungee, that’s great to hear and also great to have the solution now here linked in the forum. Thanks for posting!
I’ve looked into this myself and it seems that there’s no easy way to simply toggle Steam VR auto-start on/off.
Anyway, I’ve forwarded this thread to the devs and I’m sure that the Steam VR compatibility situation will be put on the beta list for the upcoming Beta 2. I’m sorry that there’s not much more I/we can do for you at this point.
Best regards,
TimHi Mungee, thanks for the screenshots. That is indeed the starting location with the view to the ground, allegedly because the tracking doesn’t work.
I believe the problem is SteamVR in this constellation. Please quit everything that belongs to Steam and simply launch the latest version of the Oculus Rift S software. FBVR does not need anything from SteamVR and was not tested with it.
Best regards,
TimHi Munge, you can upload screenshots to “Lightshot” (no registration required). Here:
Then just copy+paste a link to your screenshot here (like the ones I posted in my previous post). Please do that, so I can forward this to the developers.
We tested it here with an Oculus Rift and a Quest 2 (with Oculus Link) and it works as intended. When the VR headset icon is clicked in the main menu, the VR headset gets the image (in fullscreen) and it all just works.
If we don’t get it to work, we’ll get you a full refund. But please let’s not give up already, as we’re curious to find out what’s going on here.
There’s another VR experience in our catalog that uses the same method (hybrid display on either VR headset or PC monitor). This one here:
It’s free. If you find the time, maybe you can try if that one works on your system?

Hi Mungee,
let’s find out what’s going on. I suggest we go through the process together so I can find out, at what point your problem occurs. First, I have two simple questions for you.
Step 1)
Let’s forget about your VR headset for a second. Can you launch FBVR on your Windows PC? Open the folder, where FBVR was extracted/installed to (usually this should be named “FBVR_R203-Beta1”) and click on “Fuhrerbunker_VR.exe”. This should launch the project and greet you with a screen (on your monitor, not on your headset) that looks like this:
If this works, please proceed to step two. If it doesn’t, get back to me.
Step 2)
If you’ve answered question A with “Yes”, exit FBVR again and launch your Oculus software and make sure your VR headset is properly connected to the PC.
Now, with your VR headset connected and the Oculus software launched, open “Fuhrerbunker_VR.exe” again (just like you launched it before in step 1).
It should greet you with the same screen, but this time the logo for the VR headset should be lit and can be selected. It should look like this:
Please check the two points above and let me know if these two steps can be reproduced on your system.
Hi Mungee, thanks for purchasing FBVR and for your message.
FBVR was made as a hybrid experience. This means that you can experience it on your 2D screen (PC desktop) or with a VR headset.
To launch FBVR on your headset, follow these easy steps:
A) Make sure your VR hardware is properly connected to your PC.
B) Launch the Oculus software.
C) Launch FBVR on your Windows desktop. It’ll start with a menu on your 2D screen.
D) If your VR hardware is properly installed and if the Oculus software is running, you can now select the VR headset (the icon in the very left) to run FBVR on your headset. Once you clicked the icon, you can put up your VR headset.
That’s all. For navigating the experience and additional help, you may want to check out this video:
Let me know if you got everything to work or if you require more help.
Best regards,
TimHi KWB, first of all, sorry for the late reply. Because of the screenshot in your post, the entire post was held back as “needs approval”. This forum is still very young and we still need to get some details sorted out.
Anyway, back to your topic: At first glance this looks like something Direct X 12 / D3D 12 related. Can you please provide some info about your system? Primarily looking at Windows version, GPU and RAM. Thanks
Hi there, we provide support only for the VR experiences published through T&H (Arctic Meltdown and Führerbunker VR). If you need support for another experience, you’ll need to get in touch with the developer. In this case, please visit https://blueplanetvr.com/. Hope this helps.
Hi Francesco, you’re welcome. I’m part of the Time and History team. We prefer doing support on the forum, so that more people can benefit from the questions and answers.
Let me know how the Quest 2 works for you.
Best,
TimHi Francesco, there are lots of great choices for VR headsets out there, but it really comes down to the relation between your PC and the headset itself. All VR experiences presented on Time and History (TH) are for PCVR, meaning that you need a “VR-ready” PC and a VR headset to display the experience.
You can find out if your PC is VR-ready by running a benchmark tool. Like this one:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/323910/SteamVR_Performance_Test/Regarding the VR headset, we recommend the Oculus (META) Quest 2, as it is by far the most installed and best tested headset. It also offers great wireless usage and is overall a choice you can be sure that most VR experiences will be optimized for.
You can select better and more expensive headsets with higher resolution displays, but you’ll have to keep in mind that higher resolutions also mean more load on your PC. To me (personal opinion), the Quest 2 really offers the best compromise between handling, performance and visual fidelity.
The Quest 2 (or generally headsets from the Oculus/Meta universe) are also the headsets with the biggest selection of exclusive titles.
I hope this helps for orientation. Let me know if you have more questions.
Best regards,
Damit kommt man schon recht weit.
For now, Führerbunker VR will be available on Time & History only. We believe that serious VR documentaries don’t sit well next to games. That’s why we founded T&H.
